Bandwidth quotas

How much email can I receive using Runbox?

Runbox is a very generous email service, but we do enforce some quotas and restrictions to curb extreme usage and prevent abuse. However, normal usage will not be affected by the quotas.

The current bandwidth quota for regular Runbox accounts is 2.5 GB per week, measuring all email being delivered to or sent from your account. Please see the RunboxInfo.Restrictions page for details. The quota will allow you to receive tens of thousands of regular messages per week and even hundreds of MP3 music files as attachments per week.

Monitor the Bandwidth usage meter in Webmail to check your usage. You can also have bandwidth usage notifications sent to your account from the Account page. The bandwidth counter is reset every Monday. If you exceed your bandwidth quota, incoming messages will be returned to sender.

There is also a limit of 5000 incoming messages per user per day. Those accounts found to be over quota are then blocked from receiving more mail, until the next day. Messages sent to your account while it is blocked are bounced back to sender.

For more information about bandwidth quotas, see the Restrictions information page.
