Runbox Mail Manager utilizes the following OSI Certified Open Source Software:

• Operating system: Debian Linux.
• Database server: MySQL by MySQL AB.
• Mail transfer agent: Exim by the University of Cambridge.
  • Anti-spam filtering: SpamAssassin with Razor and Dspam.
  • Anti-virus filtering: Clam AntiVirus with OpenAntiVirus and Exiscan.
• Web server: Apache HTTP Server with mod_perl by The Apache Software Foundation.
• Web proxy: Squid Web Proxy Cache.
• Template system: Template Toolkit.

The Runbox Mail Manager web application is written in Perl, and utilizes:

• Webmail spell checker: WBOSS by Joshua Cantara.
• HTML editor: HTMLArea by dynarch.com.

  Jan was our main developer from 2004 to 2005 and contributed greatly to the application, developing email hosting as well as our new payment system.

  Trond was the main developer in 2003 - 2004, but moved on to Metereologisk Institutt (Norwegian Metereological Institute), at the University of Oslo. Trond did a great job uppgrading the webmail from version 3 to 4.
