Netscape
To set up Netscape Mail with Runbox Mail Manager, follow the step-by-step instructions below. Please note that the setup process and dialog boxes on your computer may varyfrom what is shown here, depending on what operating system and version of Netscape you are using (these instructions apply to Netscape 6 on a Windows 2000 platform).
1. Start Netscape using for instance the Start menu. Click Tasks in the toolbar at the top of your screen, and select Mail. This will open the Netscape Mail program.
2. Click Edit in the toolbar at the top, and then Mail/News Account Settings to get the Account Settings window (if you have no previous email accounts, jump directly to step 3). Click New Account at the bottom left side of the window.
3. Select Other ISP or email provider, and click Next.
4. Enter your name as you want it to appear on all your outgoing email messages, in the first field. In the second field, enter your runbox email address, consisting of your runbox username and the runbox domain name, in this format:
username@runboxANTISPAM.com.
5. Make sure
POP Mail Server is selected as Server Type at the top of the dialog box (runbox does not currently support
IMAP). Then enter pop.runbox.com in the Server Name field. The outgoing server will already be set if you have a previously registered email account (you can change this later by clicking Outgoing (
SMTP) Server in the Account Settings window and entering smtp.runbox.com). Please note that using runbox'
SMTP server requires enabling
SMTP authentication, using the same login data as for the
POP server. Netscape will prompt you for your password once per browser session, for sending mail.
6. Enter your runbox username. You will be asked for your runbox password the first time you check for new email with this account, with the option to save it. If you have lost or forgotten your password, please see the Help Overview page for information on how to contact us and retrieve it.
7. Enter an easy-to-remember name for this account, like "runbox".
8. Click Finish to save your settings.
9. You have now successfully set up Netscape Mail to retrieve email from runbox, and the new account will appear in the Account Settings window as "runbox" (the name you entered in step 7). Click OK.
10. Back in the Netscape Mail Inbox, your runbox account appears in the Mail Folders window on your left. The set up of Netscape Mail with Runbox Mail Manager is now complete. If you later want to change the information you entered, click Edit in the toolbar at the top, and then Mail/News Account Settings.
