IMAP for Opera 9 Mail Client
To set up Opera 9 with Runbox Mail Manager, follow the step-by-step instructions below. Please note that the setup process and dialog boxes on your computer may vary from what is shown here, depending on what version of Microsoft Windows and Opera you are using (these instructions apply directly to Opera 9 on a Windows XP platform).
There are several ways in creating new accounts in Opera. We will cover one of them here.
1. Start Opera using for instance the Start menu. Click "Tools" in the toolbar at the top of your screen, and select "Mail and chat accounts...".
2. You will get a dialog box asking you to create an account. Click "Yes".
3. Select "!IMAP", and click on "Next" to continue.
4. In the next dialog box, type your name and email address as you want it to appear in all your outgoing email messages, and click "Next" to continue.
5. Now enter your Runbox username and password. Click "Next" to continue.
6. Then enter "imap.runbox.com" in the field for "Incoming mail server (IMAP)", and "smtp.runbox.com" as "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)".
NOTE: If you want to use the secure IMAP server on port 993, you need to enter "secure.runbox.com" and check the box "Use secure connection (TLS)".
7. Press "Finish".
You will now be taken to the email interface in Opera.
8. However, the setup is not finalized yet. You will need to go back to the "Tools" menu in the toolbar at the top of your screen, and select "Mail and chat accounts...". Mark the accunt that you just created, and click on "Edit".
9. Runbox uses SMTP authentication to secure the Runbox server against abuse. Therefore, under the "Servers" tab -> "Outgoing SMTP server", choose "Auto" or "AUTH LOGIN" under the Authentication menu, and enter your Runbox username and password.
NOTE: If you previously selected to use the secure IMAP server, your settings should look like this:
10. Next, click on the "Incoming" tab. Type "INBOX" in "Path to IMAP root folder".
The set up of the account is now completed. You can always edit your account by going back to the "Tools" menu in the toolbar at the top of your screen, and select "Mail and chat accounts...". Mark the accunt that you just created, and click on "Edit".

Note: Many Internet Service Providers block port 25. Therefore, it is recommended to change the value in the field for Outgoing server (SMTP) to 26.
Note: You will need to specify to which folder sent messages should be saved. Do this by going to the edit mode, selecting the "Outgoing" tab, and scrolling down to the .Sent folder under your
IMAP folders.
The set up of Opera 9 with Runbox Mail Manager is now complete.
