How to setup your Network Solutions domains for Runbox Email Hosting
The following information was obtained from the Network Solutions® Account Manager User Guide:
http://www.accountmanageruserguide.com
Log In to Your Account
- Go to http://www.networksolutions.com
- Click the Account Manager tab at the far right of the top menu
- Select Log In from the drop-down menu
- On the Account Manager Login page, enter your User ID and Password
To access DNS Manager – Advanced Tools
- Click the Domains left menu tab
- Click Manage Domain Names
- Select the check boxes next to the domains that you want to edit
- Click Edit DNS
- On the Edit Domain Name Servers page, in the DNS Manager – Advanced Tools section, click Manage DNS Records
- Follow the instructions to manage the selected domain names
MX Records (Mail Servers)
Before you begin editing MX records:
- Know the priority level (10) and name of your mail server (mx.runbox.com)
- Understand that DNS updates will take up to 2 hours to take effect (updates may resolve more quickly at some locations than others because many name servers on the Internet retrieve updates at different times).
To update MX records
- Follow instructions for accessing DNS Manager – Advanced Tools to view the DNS Manager Settings page
- On the DNS Manager Settings page, in the Host Aliases: MX Records section, click Add/Edit
- Your current MX records are listed in editable form, and any Network Solutions service that is associated with the MX record is listed under the Mail Server text box
- To add/edit MX records:
- Enter or edit the MX record in the Mail Server text box (mx.runbox.com) and its associated priority number in the Priority text box (10)
- Click Continue
- To delete MX records:
- To the right of the MX record, select the check box in the Delete column
- Click Continue
- Review the list of requested changes
- Click Continue
That should be it for the Network Solutions end. You can now return to Runbox
Email Hosting and wait for the status of your domain to change from "Pending" to "Active".
