Email Hosting and NameCheap.com

This page explains how to setup a domain hosted at NameCheap.com for use with email hosting. It assumes that you have registered a domain name at namecheap.com and have added this domain on the Email Hosting page in your runbox account.

  1. Go to the Members tab, then Manage Domains. Click on the domain you want to setup the MX record.
  2. Then select All Host Records.
  3. Under Mail Settings select User (Mail Server's Host Name Required) and click Save Changes. This will create the text boxes to enter the MX information.
  4. For HOST NAME enter "@" (without the quotes).
  5. For MAILSERVER HOST NAME enter "mx.runbox.com" (without the quotes).
  6. For MAIL TYPE it should be "MX (Mail Record)" (the only selection possible for me). For MX PREFERENCE use 10 (I think mine defaulted to that).
  7. Finally, click Save Changes again.

Thanks to Richard Carver for providing this information!
